Il Casale di Monte Venere
An ancient stone farmhouse nestled in the woods of the Emilian Apennines has recently been completely restored (respecting the original materials and structure) to offer its guests the maximum comfort in contact with nature.
Casale di Monte Venere is an ancient stone farmhouse, nestled between the woods and clearings of the Middle Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, between Canossa and the National Park, in the heart of the MAB-Unesco area.
The building has been recently renovated according to the most advanced bio-architecture and energy efficiency criteria, while keeping the charm of stone and wood intact thanks to the skilful recovery of the original materials.
The house is regularly inhabited by the owners, who have reserved a part of the building for hospitality with three large double bedrooms (all with private bathroom in the room, two with shower and one with bathtub) and a spectacular former barn converted into a living room with sofa , fireplace and table for breakfasts. Breakfast is based mainly on organic products and / or at Km 0.
The property is located in the center of the Val Tassobbio, an Apennine valley rich in naturalistic, geological, historical and archaeological points of interest. CAI hiking trails literally start from the gates of the farmhouse and offer walkers and mountain bikers an almost infinite series of routes. For gourmets, this area is the production area for the best Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese: it is possible to make guided visits (by reservation) to artisan dairies and taste the finished and seasoned product at "zero meters".
From the farmhouse in less than an hour's drive it is possible to reach some of the most interesting cities of art: Parma (Italian capital of Culture 2020), Reggio Emilia and Modena; even closer are the Matildic castles of Canossa, Rossena, Bianello and Carpineti, the Pietra di Bismantova and the peaks of the Apennine ridge.
