Tenuta baronale “Jò-S.Elia” immersa nei bergamotti
In Palizzi Marina, in the Ionian territory of the Grecanic area, you meet the sea and the biodiversity of the caretta caretta turtles and the Aspromonte of Edward Lear's English path.
The apartment is inserted in the context of a historic building, where there are 3 other apartments used as holiday homes. Each apartment is independent and is equipped with the necessary eco-sustainable comforts which, together with an exclusive urban context, make your stay pleasant and special. In fact, the place, the contact with nature, the sea, the food, the wine of Palizzi make the stay of the guests of particular interest and exclusivity.
In fact, the apartments are part of the larger building complex of the "Jò - Sant'Elia" baronial estate, built in 1650. It is part of the farm where the precious and rare BERGAMOT is grown, a citrus fruit with exceptional and rare phytotherapeutic properties, which it is produced only in this area. The territorial context is characterized by the Greek-speaking enclave, whose symbolic place is Gallicianò, set on the slopes of the Aspromonte. Reaching Palizzi marina is experiencing a unique experiential journey, because Palizzi Marina, together with Cape Matapan and Gibraltar, are the southernmost point of peninsular Europe, that's why in the seven km. of the Palizzi stretch of sea, the sea turtle "Caretta caretta" nests and in the months from July to September you can watch the hatching of the eggs deposited in the nests on the beach and see the small turtles reaching the sea.
The sea of Palizzi, with its white sandy beaches and shoreline with two meters of pebbles, offer the possibility of spending days between the sun and the sea away from clamor and noise as early as the month of March and until well into November.
While those who want to have an experience among woods and uncontaminated paths can do so by visiting places of memory such as Roghudi, located on the crest of the dragon, the stone village, Pentedattilo, or the medieval village of Palizzi with the hamlet of Pietrapennata, through the so-called English path, traveled in 1800 by Edward Lear.
