- Apartment in the farmhouse --> up to 7 people, first floor, independent entrance with staircase, kitchen-living room, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms.
- Casina del ciliegio --> independent cottage, all ground floor also suitable for the disabled, sleeps 3+1, with large exclusive external pergola.
- Room in B&B in the Casale --> room with private bathroom for 2+1 people.
Park-garden-solarium equipped with games and private 12x6 meter swimming pool.
The farm:
located 400 meters above sea level in the Garfagnana valley (Tuscany), surrounded by woods and cultivated fields, the Antico podere De Stefani is at the center of a historic farm - created in the 19th century by a famous university professor and man of science - today managed with the best criteria of bio-sustainable family farming, with great attention to typical products, social and environmental responsibility. We are surrounded by the Apuan Alps and the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, mountains that enclose the Garfagnana valley protected by the "National Park of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines" and by the "Regional Park of the Apuan Alps".
The farmhouse:
a part of the farmhouse and an agricultural outbuilding have been restructured for agritourism use. Here you can spend your holidays in an oasis of tranquility among the landscape, castles, villages and medieval fortresses of the Garfagnana; you can walk and climb to the shelters and panoramic peaks of the Apuan Alps and the Apennines, or discover the culture of a valley where, for example, you can learn Italian without dialectal inflections, follow music courses from important international associations or simply attend the local sections of the Alpine Club with their interesting excursions suitable for people of all ages.
What to do:
a holiday at the "Antico podere De Stefani" - in addition to relaxation and the silence of the countryside - can be full of outdoor activities: walks in the countryside, excursions on the Garfagnana Trekking route and the Lunigiana-Garfagnana variant of the Francigena, speleology, mountaineering, free climbing, ski mountaineering and snowshoeing in winter, cycling throughout the year (both mountain and road bikes) without forgetting the landscape and the good life with gastronomy, village fairs, medieval, popular and traditional religious festivals , essence of the lifestyle of the population of our valley.
Agriculture:
the main crops of the company are spelled from Garfagnana, wheat and maize of historical local varieties, buckwheat, vegetable gardens, orchards and a chestnut grove with various native varieties of chestnuts; we are "Guardian Growers" of ancient varieties of apples and vegetables and we look after the meadows and pastures for our herd of cows of the prized Pezzata Rossa Valdostana breed, specifically chosen because in our climate they are able to live free and outdoors all year round.
The "Antico podere De Stefani" is not a simple tourist facility but a historic farm, today engaged in various multifunctional agricultural and non-agricultural activities with high social, environmental and conservation value: for example heating and hot water in the farmhouse and outbuildings are obtained exclusively with company biomass, the electricity is 100% certified from renewable sources, the building renovation interventions are designed and implemented by optimizing thermal insulation with the use of recycled materials and products in Italy. we collaborate in a social farming project and in our irrigation lake lives a welcome and numerous colony of rare and endemic Apuan Newts.
Here it is possible to experience a secluded and peaceful holiday in the heart of the Garfagnana, in a farmhouse that is easily accessible on foot and by bike, or by train and bus, close to the towns of Pieve Fosciana and Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, therefore convenient to all services.
The company is part of the "Consorzio Garfagnana Produce", of the "Consorzio Produttori Farro IGP della Garfagnana", of the network of "Cultivators custodians of Tuscany", of "Terranostra", of the Regional Breeders Association.

in 2014 a thesis of the Master in "Management of Local Development in Parks and Natural Areas", of the University of Teramo, dealt with the issue of valorisation of local assets with a project for the development of cultural and sustainable tourism in Garfagnana through a research on the "Antico Podere De Stefani" and its history:

Perfect location: nice and tidy apartment with all what you need for a comfortable stay, very friendly, relaxed and helpful owners, very good surrounding and garden, rural but close to the villages. Beautiful pool and relaxing area.

Abbiamo trovato la 'casetta' pulita. Arredata in modo semplice, ma funzionale. Posizionata nel verde, paese e negozi raggiungibili in meno di 5 minuti (a piedi). Accoglienza ottima, poiché i proprietari sono molto discreti e affabili. Tutto il necessario per una ricca colazione, con torta fatta in casa e ottima marmellata di mele cotogne.
